Shimadzu - Hydraulic wedge grips
20/50/100/250kN
Hydraulic wedge grips “non-shift” (without vertical displacement) combine the advantages of a strong, uniform clamping force with a wedge design that is open at the front and are ideal for tensile testing of plastics, metals, wood and composite materials.
The clamping jaws comprise upper and lower clamps, clamping surfaces equipped with file teeth for flat specimens, a unit to prevent the initial load and a hydraulic unit.
The hydraulic unit is equipped with a control box for the operator.
The device for preventing the axial force eliminates the initial force that arises when the test specimen is clamped. It is required for hydraulic, non-switchable wedge clamps, as the clamping force is strong.
When ordering, the clamping jaws should be matched to both the maximum capacity of the universal tester and the maximum capacity of the clamping heads.
Further clamping jaws, e.g. for rods, wires, materials with high hardness and composite materials, can be found in the chapter Clamping jaws for hydraulic non-shift wedge grips.
