Sandner - EXR, Extensometers for fracture mechanics
For static and fatigue tests in fracture mechanics applications
Mainly used in static and fatigue testing machines for strain measurements.
EXR crack opening extensometer for compact tensile test specimens (CT). Generally, the EXA extensometer is combined with a pair of measuring blades in accordance with ASTM E-399 and an extensometer with an expanding spring attachment. Crack opening values are assigned via the calibration curve, crack length values are used to determine the material properties.
Properties
EXR extensometers are suitable for tensile, bending and fracture mechanics tests on test specimens, original components and assemblies of any profile.
EXR extensometers are included in the scope of delivery:
- Extensometer in storage case with 500 mm cable and Lemosa plug.
- ASTM standard knife edges and tangs
- Pressure spring
- Screwdriver
- Nylon string
- Locking pin or gauge block
- Data sheet with all transducer-specific data, such as hysteresis, measurement error and sensitivity.
