Embedding for metallography, consumables
The aim of embedding is to handle small or irregularly shaped specimens and to protect fragile materials, thin layers or coatings during preparation and to ensure good edge retention. Embedding gives the samples a uniform size so that they are easier to handle in automatic holders for further preparation steps.
Warm embedding

Programmable automatic press with Siemens color control panel. Single chamber design. Programmable processes. Electro-hydraulic pressure build-up up to 300 bar. Temperature range up to 200 °C. Mould sizes from 25 mm to 50 mm.
- ECOPRESS 202
Programmable automatic press with colored Siemens control panel. Two-chamber design. Heating capacity 2x 1’650W (230V).
Cold embedding
- VACUMET 52
Cold mounting is used for sensitive samples that cannot withstand high temperatures and pressures. In these, more time-consuming cases, cold mounting is carried out with acrylic or epoxy resins. A vacuum is applied to avoid bubbles.
