Metallography - Grinding, Polishing
In order to obtain a highly reflective surface that is free of scratches and deformations, the samples must be carefully ground and polished before they can be examined under the microscope. Here you will find the right equipment for maintaining such surfaces.
FORCIPOL
The grinding and polishing machines in the FORCIPOL series offer practical and economical solutions for your metallographic sample preparation requirements.
The FORCIPOL basic units are available as
- Single-wheel (FORCIPOL 102) and
- Double wheel devices (FORCIPOL 202).
If only manual preparation is required, the FORCIPOL control unit is mounted on the FORCIPOL grinding/polishing machine. If automatic operation is desired, one of the FORCIMAT automatic heads is used.

ACCURA (High end)
ACCURA 102 is an advanced high-end grinding and polishing system that features a robust design on two columns for applications requiring extremely flat specimen surfaces.
- Suitable for applications with Ø250 and Ø300 mm.
- Motorised positioning of the head in the vertical (Z) and horizontal (X) axes with memory function.
- Precise control of the force applied. Combined with optional grinding depth measuring system.
- Option to save and recall preparation programmes on the LCD screen.
- Efficient control of consumables usage thanks to the optional integrated peristaltic dosing unit.

Semi-automatic systems
FORCIPOL 352 is designed for grinding and polishing very large specimens or a large number of specimens in specimen holders. It reduces the total preparation time for high sample throughput.
Sample holders with a diameter of up to 210 mm and 10 samples can be processed simultaneously with grinding wheels with a diameter of 350 mm.

Fully automatic systems
VELOX 102 is a fully automatic, programmable grinding/polishing system designed for unattended sample preparation with high sample throughput. Starting with surface grinding through to fine grinding/polishing/fine polishing/cleaning and drying. All you need to do is place the sample holders in the automatic feed system, select the programme number for your specific application and press the ‘Start’ button. That’s it! Your samples are prepared for analysis fully automatically. Option to queue up to 6 sample holders during operation to enable continuous sample preparation.
