GÖTTFERT – IV-Tester
Determination of intrinsic viscosity (IV) in the quality control of polyester (PET), polyamide (PA) and polypropylene (PP).
Task definition
Determining the IV value using the chemical method is time-consuming. The solvents produced are harmful to health and difficult to dispose of.
With the IV Tester from GÖTTFERT, the average molecular weight and thus the intrinsic viscosity IV can be determined easily and cleanly. No chemical solvents are required.

Test device
The IV Tester can be operated via a touch panel, meaning it can be used in production environments or laboratories without a PC and can be connected to the company network if required. The built-in displacement transducer measures the punch movement with maximum accuracy.

- Die plug for low-viscosity materials (also heatable for polymers with high test temperature).
- Melt cutting device
- Nitrogen purge device for hygroscopic polymers
- Corrosion-resistant or wear-resistant design of channel and piston
